OffChart's RVU tracker showing a fiscal-year Total RVU, CMS MPPR RVUs, encounter count, and a month-by-month table.
Sample data

Your productivity report often shows up weeks after the work. Your leave balance lives in an HR portal, a spreadsheet, or nowhere at all. When either one is wrong, with OffChart you have a record of your own to point to.

That record is yours, not your employer's — and it goes wherever you go.

How it works

Three steps to knowing where you stand.

1
Log the work

Search a CPT code, or describe the procedure in plain words and get suggested codes. Full schedule today? Batch-log the whole day in one sitting.

2
Watch your year build

Totals by month and by CPT code, on your fiscal year — October to September, or whatever yours is. Total RVU and CMS MPPR RVUs, side by side.

3
Check it against theirs

When your employer's report arrives, line it up against your own record. Export a CSV and compare it line by line.

Time off works the same way: enter your contract once, log days as you take them, and see every balance at a glance. See the leave tracker →

The RVU tracker

Your productivity, on your own record.

Part of Pro — and free for your first 14 days, no credit card.

The AI suggestion box: a procedure described in plain words, and three suggested CPT codes with the reasoning for each.
Sample data
  • Describe it, get the codes

Type what you did in plain words and get candidate CPT codes, with the reasoning for each. The AI only suggests codes — every RVU value comes straight from the CMS fee schedule, never from the AI.

  • Two totals, side by side

Total RVU is the work you did. CMS MPPR RVUs applies multiple-procedure ranking, bilateral, and assistant or co-surgeon credit, modeled on Medicare's payment rules — so you can see exactly where they part ways.

  • Your fiscal year, not the calendar's

RVU year runs October to September while your leave contract runs January to December? Set each one separately.

  • Fast enough for a full clinic day

Type a code, press Enter, set the count, press Enter — and you're on the next one. Or dictate with your phone keyboard's microphone. A whole day's encounters in one sitting.

  • Every code, and a record you can export

More than 7,000 CPT and HCPCS codes from the CMS Physician Fee Schedule. Download your log as a CSV — one row per code — to check line by line against your employer's statement.

The leave tracker

Every day you've earned, accounted for.

OffChart's leave tracker showing days remaining, upcoming and taken, a CME budget, and balances for vacation, CME and wellness.
Sample data
  • Every contract type, handled

CME budgets, comp time banks, carry-over limits, and fiscal years that don't start in January. Enter your contract once and OffChart does the math.

  • See the whole year

A calendar view that shows the gaps, so you can plan around call and protect your time before it disappears.

  • A report you can send

Generate a clean leave summary for your scheduler, your department chief, or yourself. No more informal requests.

  • Plan ahead, then confirm Pro

Pencil in a trip before it's approved and confirm it once it is. Your balance shows both.

  • An out-of-office message, written for you Pro

Pick a trip and a tone, and get a ready-to-send email and EHR message with your coverage details. Edit it, copy it, done.

Why time off matters

Physicians are not taking their time off.

1 in 3

US physicians take 2 weeks or less of vacation a year.

10%

Take 5 days or fewer of vacation in a given year.

72%

Work while on vacation — nearly a third spend 30+ minutes per day on patient tasks.

48.6%

Lack EHR coverage while out of office.

Why I built it

I'm a physician. I built OffChart to keep my own records.

My PTO was misreported — my 0.9 FTE hadn't been taken into account — and I lost about three weeks of pay. I got it back because I'd kept my own records, in a spreadsheet.

I built OffChart because I wanted a better way to track and support.

The RVU tracker brings the same idea to your productivity: a record of your own that you can check against your employer's report.

FAQ

Common questions.

Where do the RVU values come from?
From the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule relative value file that CMS publishes (the 2026 release). OffChart includes every CPT and HCPCS code that carries a work RVU — more than 7,000 — along with CMS's indicators for multiple-procedure, bilateral, assistant, and co-surgeon adjustments. CPT® is a registered trademark of the American Medical Association; CPT codes and descriptions © 2026 AMA.
Will my numbers match my employer's report?
Not necessarily. Employers and compensation plans use their own conversion factors, adjustments, and rules that OffChart can't see. That's what a record of your own is for: something specific to compare against, and a clear question to ask if the two differ. OffChart's totals are estimates for your own tracking — not coding or billing advice.
Does OffChart store patient information?
No, and please don't enter any. An encounter is a date, one or more CPT codes with quantities, and an optional note. You never need a patient's name, MRN, or date of birth, and the app reminds you not to include them — especially in AI descriptions.
How do the AI code suggestions work?
You describe the procedure in plain words. That text goes to an AI service (Anthropic's Claude), which suggests candidate CPT codes with a short rationale. OffChart then looks up each suggested code's real RVU value in the CMS table — the AI never supplies a number. Suggestions are a starting point: check each one against your own documentation. Describe the procedure, not the patient.
What if my RVU year and my leave year are different?
That's fine. They're set independently. Many clinicians have a January–December leave contract and an October–September productivity year; OffChart also handles July fiscal years and anything else. Carry-over and accrual math for leave follows your contract.
What happens to my data if I don't upgrade?
You move to the free plan. Everything you've logged is kept, and it's all there again if you upgrade. The RVU tracker itself is a Pro feature, so it's locked on the free plan.
Who is OffChart for?
Physicians, NPs, PAs, and CRNAs. The RVU tracker uses Medicare work RVUs by CPT code, a measure many compensation plans are built on — if you're paid on a different measure it may not fit. The leave tracker works with any contract.
Can I track comp time?
Yes. OffChart has a built-in comp time earn/burn bank. Log days earned, log days used, and your running balance updates automatically.
What happens if I switch employers?
You can start a new contract at any time. Your existing contracts stay in your account so you can look back at previous years.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your contract, leave history, and RVU log live in your own account, stored securely, and are never sold. The only thing that leaves is text you choose to submit to an AI feature. See the Privacy Policy for the service providers we use.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. OffChart works on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. Most clinicians use it on mobile, and you can add it to your home screen.
